Semi-finals – MD : Elimination for the 2017 title holders

Impressive performances today in Coubertin. The best players in the world fought to get into the France Super 750 Final. In Men’s doubles, the 2017 French Open champions have been eliminated. And the world n°1 will be in the final tomorrow.

In the Men’s doubles draw, the first semi-final opposed the young players from China (HAN/ZHOU) who won all their previous rounds in 2 straight games, and the pair from Chinese Taipei (LEE-LEE) who got the title here last year.

After winning the first game 21-13, the defending champions couldn’t conclude and played a bit less aggressive. They also made some mistakes that actually cost them the match. They fought during three hard games but they finally lost 13-21 21-18 21-17.

An amazing performance from the Chinese that confirms their previous results. The two players were finalists in China last month. Tomorrow, they will try to win their first title in Paris.

Gideon/Sukamuljo will fight for victory

The world no 1 players from Indonesia Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sukamuljo made their entrance on the court this afternoon for a spot in Final. They faced the solid and combative Indian pair SHETTY/RANKIREDDY. After a disputing match, the Indians have been defeated in straight games, 21-12 26-24.

The 2nd game was really tight and both pairs had to raise their level of badminton to fight for victory. The Indonesian were apparently surprised by the speed of the match. In the end, the world no 1 managed to win the game, even if the Indian showed a lot of resistance. “We are happy with our performance, and managed to win the match after a tough 2nd game. We are here to win in the end”, said the Indonesians after their match.
