3 questions to Sally JIE

For this second day of the Yonex IFB 2026, focus on communication! Today, Sally JIE tells us how she brings the competition to life among badminton fans.

This is your first edition of the Yonex IFB. What made you want to join the volunteers?

«I used to work at Canada Open with the Canadian Badminton Federation. I really liked it because it allowed me to understand sports management. Working on international badminton events is what I want to do! In the future, I want to develop a career in international sports events and I think that being able to participate in a Super 750 level event will help me a lot. It’s very different from the Canada Open because there are a lot more people and work to do. So I think this experience will help me, especially since it’s badminton, my favorite sport.»

What is your role during the Yonex IFB 2026?

«I am with the communication team! Mainly, I take care of the articles that come out on the site, as well as the posts on social networks like X, Facebook, Instagram.... My role is to create the visuals, publish these posts and articles.»

Among all your missions, which one do you prefer and why?

«Instead of saying mission, I would say it’s more like an action! It’s the act of publishing. By doing this, I represent the voice of the federation, I am in a role where I can communicate directly with the community of badminton spectators. For me, it’s very special because it’s really my community and I’m in a position where I can connect the organizers' side and the fans' side.»
