3 questions to Michel HINFRAY

For these Yonex IFB 2026, it’s time for the volunteers who bring this competition to life from within! Today, we give the floor to Michel HINFRAY, assistant player spaces and training who ensures every year that athletes have the best conditions to prepare before entering the court.

Since when did you volunteer at Yonex IFB? What made you want to come back this year?

"I have been volunteering for eight years now. What made me want to come back is that since I started volunteering, I enjoy the atmosphere. I didn’t know anything about badminton and it made me discover this sport; in the end, it became a discipline that I enjoy. And then, I also find that the atmosphere among the volunteers is really nice!”

"Assistant spaces players and training": how would you describe your position on these Yonex IFB 2026?

«It’s a matter of making sure that everything is going well for the players, both in terms of their practices and their warm-ups. What I like about this position is that we are at the heart of the competition since, for me, it starts with the players. Even if the spectators are very important, of course...”

In a word, the Yonex IFB for you is...? And why?

«For me, it has become an annual tradition! A time of meetings and sharing, mainly with the volunteers since we are at their service. But, overall, we have very little interaction with them! They are rather with the liaison officers.”
