Round 2-MS : The favorites still on their way !

The men’s singles showed a very good level of game today and contrary to the women’s doubles, the draw did’nt show any relevant surprise.

The day began with the world number one Kento Momota, who is clearly favorite for the title. He easily got the victory over his compatriot Sakai with a score of 21-17 21-17. Momota is going to face Kidambi (5th seed) in the quarter finals. Today, Kidambi won against the Korean Lee Dong Keun in 3 games 12-21 21-16 21-18.

Chen Long too strong for Jorgensen

Probably the most awaited match of the day opposed the Olympic Champion Chen Long to the danish player Jorgensen. There was no suspense and the crowd appreciated the flawless game of the Chinese. Chen Long easily qualified himself for the next round with a score of 21-10 21-14. He said : « I am very happy of my performance today and I like to play here. Paris is the most visited city in the world so everybody appreciates coming to Paris including myslef ! »

An epic danish battle

Now let’s focus on a 100% Danish match ! Hans-Kristian Vittinghus was facing Rasmus Gemke. Gemke won the 1st set 21-17. Then Vittinghus struggled to win the second set 21-19. Gemke used his compatriot’s weakness and won the last set 21-15. In quarter finals, he will have to face the Thai Wangchaoren who beat Ouseph 21-7 21-15.
